Our test finder
The test finder suggests tests using routes written by our doctors. It does not diagnose and does not interpret results. Your search text is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, which processes it on our behalf to return suggestions. We keep anonymous search results for up to 7 days so repeat searches load quickly, and a scrambled version of your internet address for up to 24 hours to prevent misuse. We don't link your searches to your booking.
Who we share it with
- The Doctors Laboratory (TDL), our UKAS accredited laboratory, which analyses your samples.
- Semble, our patient record system.
- Our website host and form provider, which store your booking request.
- Anthropic, for the test finder, as described above.
- Stripe, if you pay a home visit fee online.
- WhatsApp, if you choose to message us there.
- Google Fonts, which receives your internet address when our pages load fonts.
- Your GP or other clinicians, only with your agreement, or where the law or your safety requires it.
Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or a UK adequacy decision.
How long we keep it
- Medical records, including results: in line with the Records Management Code of Practice for Health and Social Care.
- Booking requests that don't go ahead: up to 12 months.
- Anonymous test finder results: up to 7 days.
Your basket
The tests you add to your panel are saved in your browser's session storage so they are still there when you move between pages. They are cleared when you close the tab or complete a booking.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted or restricted, to object to how we use it, or to receive it in a portable format. Some rights are limited for medical records we must keep by law. Email hello@bloodtestsdirect.co.uk and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have used your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
